Seniors - Ages 14+ Years

Training, leadership and limitless potential

The Senior years represent the culmination of a dancer’s journey through BPA.

By this stage, students have developed strong technical foundations, valuable performance experience and a deep understanding of what it means to commit to their training. They arrive at class with confidence, maturity and a willingness to challenge themselves as they continue striving towards their personal goals.

For some dancers, this stage is about pursuing advanced examinations, competitions and performance opportunities. For others, it’s about continuing to enjoy dance, staying active and being part of a supportive community they have grown up in.

Whatever their goals, our Senior program provides an environment where dancers can continue learning, growing and reaching their full potential.

Ballet

Ballet remains the foundation of senior dance training.

Students continue developing strength, alignment, control, extension and artistry while working through advanced technical exercises and examination levels. Ballet provides the discipline and technical understanding that supports every other style and remains an essential component of a well-rounded dancer’s education.

Contemporary

Contemporary allows dancers to explore movement on a deeper level.

Students develop artistry, creativity and emotional connection through movement while continuing to refine technique and versatility. Contemporary encourages dancers to challenge themselves physically and artistically, helping them become expressive and adaptable performers.

Refining Technique and Developing Artistry

As dancers progress into the Senior program, training becomes increasingly focused on refinement, consistency and artistic development.

Students are challenged to move beyond simply performing steps and begin exploring the details that elevate their dancing. They learn how to connect technique with expression, develop their own artistic voice and perform with confidence, authenticity and purpose.

This stage encourages dancers to think critically, take ownership of their development and embrace the process of continuous improvement.

Examinations and Personal Achievement

Many Senior dancers participate in advanced COMDANCE examinations, working towards increasingly challenging levels across multiple styles.

Examinations provide an opportunity to celebrate progress, refine technique and gain valuable feedback from industry professionals. They also encourage students to set goals, develop self-discipline and take pride in their achievements.

Whether students choose examinations, performance pathways or recreational training, our focus remains on supporting each dancer’s individual journey.

Performance Teams and Stage Experience

Senior dancers have access to a variety of performance opportunities throughout the year.

From our annual concert to Performance Teams, competitions and community events, students gain valuable stage experience while creating unforgettable memories with their teammates and friends.

These opportunities allow dancers to showcase their hard work, develop professionalism and experience the excitement that comes from performing in front of an audience.

Preparing for the Next Chapter

For some dancers, the Senior program is the final stage of their training before graduation.

For others, it becomes a stepping stone towards teaching, professional opportunities or continued training beyond school years.

Regardless of where their future takes them, our goal is to ensure every dancer leaves BPA with more than just technical skills.

We want our students to leave with confidence, resilience, friendships and memories that will stay with them long after their final performance.

Because while dance classes eventually come to an end, the lessons learned along the way often last a lifetime.
