Our Classes

At BPA Dance Studio, we’re passionate about creating a place where every dancer feels supported, challenged and celebrated. From our youngest preschool students to our senior performers and adult beginners, every class is designed to build confidence, develop skills and foster a genuine love of dance.

Explore our age groups to learn more about each program and find the class that’s right for you.

  • Our preschool programs are designed to introduce children to the joy of movement in a fun, nurturing environment. Through Ready Set Dance, Ready Set Ballet, Ready Set Acro and Ready Set Move, students develop coordination, balance, musicality, creativity and confidence while building important social and listening skills. Classes are carefully structured for young learners and focus on creating a positive first experience that encourages a lifelong love of dance.

  • Minis is the first stage of our school-age program and is designed for dancers ready to move beyond play-based learning into more structured training. Students begin developing strong foundations in ballet, jazz, tap and acrobatics while continuing to build confidence and creativity. This age group focuses on learning technique in an encouraging environment where students can grow at their own pace, make new friends and discover their favourite dance styles. Performance team opportunities are also available for students looking for additional training.

  • Primary students begin their examination journey while continuing to strengthen their technique and performance skills. Classes become more structured and students are encouraged to develop discipline, focus and confidence in the classroom. Dancers train across multiple styles and begin learning the foundations of safe dance technique, musicality and performance quality. This stage helps prepare students for future examinations, performances and advanced training opportunities.

  • As dancers progress into the Junior program, training focuses on developing strength, flexibility, coordination and technical accuracy. Students begin working through more complex exercises and choreography while continuing to build confidence both in class and on stage. Examinations, performances and performance teams provide opportunities for students to challenge themselves while remaining supported in a positive learning environment.

  • Intermediate dancers continue refining their technique while expanding their training into additional dance styles and performance opportunities. Students are encouraged to develop greater artistry, expression and attention to detail as they prepare for the transition into senior-level dance. Classes focus on building versatility across genres while strengthening the technical foundations required for examinations, performances and future progression.

  • The move into our senior school introduces dancers to a higher level of training, commitment and personal responsibility. Students continue developing strong technique in ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary while learning more challenging choreography and performance skills. This stage encourages dancers to become confident, resilient and independent performers both inside and outside the studio.

  • Sub Senior 2 dancers continue building technical excellence while exploring more advanced styles, conditioning and performance opportunities. Students develop stronger artistic expression, stage presence and versatility as they work toward higher-level examinations and performances. This program is ideal for dancers looking to further their training in a supportive but challenging environment.

  • Our Senior program is designed for dedicated dancers who want to reach their full potential. Students train across a variety of styles including ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and acrobatics while focusing on advanced technique, performance quality and artistic development. Senior dancers have opportunities to participate in examinations, performance teams, competitions and studio productions while developing the confidence, discipline and work ethic that benefit them far beyond the dance studio.

  • Our Adult Beginner class is perfect for anyone looking to try dance for the first time or return after time away. Classes focus on learning fundamentals in a relaxed and welcoming environment, with no previous experience required. Whether you’re looking to improve fitness, build confidence, learn a new skill or simply enjoy moving to music, this class offers a supportive space to have fun and challenge yourself.

Parent Testimonials

My little one has been attending BPA Dance studio for six months now and as a family we are so happy with this wonderful place. The dance teachers and staff are so attentive, kind and caring. My daughter does all three ready set dance programs and after two hours she is asking to stay for more!
Definitely the best decision we have made for her thriving little mind.

— Grace Johnson

We absolutely love BPA! Our 4yo daughter started this year and she has absolutely fallen in love with dance. Right from our trial class, the teachers were all so inviting and welcoming of Liv, making us feel like we had been there forever. Dance is now the highlight of our week, and we can't wait to see our daughters confidence continue to grow.

— Amy Heinemann

We LOVE IT! It was the best decision we have ever made for our daughter. Shes excited all week for Saturday's and while she was already in quite a confident girl, her confidence, helping skills and independance has reached another level. Thank you BPA & Miss Ash for providing this opportunity for her - we couldn't be happier!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can my child trial a class?

    Important:

    • Trials must be booked through the office

    • Trials cannot be offered in full classes

    • Trial availability may vary across the year

How do I enrol my child?

    STEP 1

    Download Dance Studio Pro App

You can set up all of your child's classes and get your invoices all sorted in one place. When Downloading the app you will also receive an email with the link to login along with a temporary password.

    STEP 2

Let's get your parent portal set up!

You can set up all of your child's classes and get your invoices all sorted. If your child's classes aren't already in your portal you can search and find your preferred classes in the class section of the app. Weekly direct debit payments are taken out on Thursdays the week before your classes. To enrol in auto pay you will need to go to the more section of your app and then click into auto-pay and fill in your preferred card details.

You will have your $50 registration fee in your portal that will be charged on the first Thursday of your direct debit.

Do I need to enrol for each class separately?

Yes. Each class must be enrolled.

This keeps class numbers accurate and ensures we staff classes correctly.

I have more than one child. Can I enrol them together?

You can add multiple children under the same Parent Portal, but:

    • Each child must be enrolled separately

    • Each class must be checked out separately

    Are classes capped?

Yes. All classes have strict capacity limits for safety and quality.

When a class reaches capacity, enrolments close.

Interested in joining our dance family?

We have students travel from Berrinba, Crestmead, Browns Plains, Marsden, Springwood, Algester, Underwood, Meadowbrook, Sunnybank Hills, Loganholme, Logan and surrounding areas to join our adult and kids dance classes.

  • How are fees paid?

From 2026, BPA Dance Studio fees are paid by weekly automated direct debit only.

    Why weekly direct debit?

    Weekly payments help:

    • Avoid large invoices

    • Keep accounts up to date automatically

    • Reduce missed payments and manual follow-ups

    • Keep payments smaller and easier to manage

Can I pay another way (cash, bank transfer, term invoices)?

No. Weekly direct debit is the only payment method.

What happens if a payment fails?

You will receive an automatic notification. Please update your details as soon as possible.

If missed payments are not resolved, this may lead to late fees and/or a pause on class attendance until the account is up to date.

Will we be charged on public holidays?

The studio will be closed and class will not run on public holidays so families will not be charged for any public holidays in that same direct debit week.

Do we need to purchase uniform and shoes?

Students must wear the Ready Set Dance uniform. However, we need to make sure we are the right fit for you and your child before committing to anything. Comfortable clothes and sneakers are fine for the first couple of lessons. Once your child has settled you can purchase the official Ready Set Dance uniform at reception which we are sure you will love.

    Is uniform required?

Yes. All students must wear the official BPA uniform for their class style

    Where do we purchase uniforms?

Uniforms are purchased through the studio. We offer:

    • Sizing help during office hours

    • Special uniform weeks (announced ahead of time)

    Are costumes included in fees?

    No. Costumes are charged separately.

Costume information and due dates are provided well in advance so families have time to plan.

  • What happens if I miss classes due to injury, illness, or surgery?

    Injury & Extended Absence Policy

If you are unable to attend classes for an extended period (4 or more consecutive weeks) due to sickness, injury, or surgery, you may be eligible for special consideration.

    To apply, you must:

    • Provide written notice outlining your situation

    • Submit a valid medical certificate covering the full period of absence

    • Notify us at the time of the incident to be considered for a possible fee waiver

Requests are assessed on a case-by-case basis.

What if my child is injured or unwell?
Please tell the teacher (or notify the office) before class.
Student safety comes first. We will modify activity where needed, or recommend rest if appropriate.
If unwell, stay home and contact us.

If we miss a class can it be made up on another day of the week?

You may swap days during Terms 1, 2 and 3 if you miss a class (as long as the make up class is not full). In term 4, each class works on a different routine for the end-of-year concert, and it is too confusing for students to be swapping days. We do recommend that you avoid alternating days too much as preschoolers need the comfort of knowing that the same teacher and their friends will be there when they go to dancing.

What happens if my child misses a class?

We understand things come up. However, missed classes are not refundable and cannot be transferred to another student or term.

    Do you offer make-up classes?

Make-up classes are not guaranteed. If available, they depend on:

    • Class capacity

    • Age and level suitability

    • Timing within the term

What happens with unforeseen weather conditions/Public Holidays?

We will notify parents of any studio closures due to wild weather conditions or any public holidays where we will not be open in advance.

  • How will I receive studio updates?

    We communicate through:

    • Email

    • Parent Portal notifications

    • Studio social media (reminders only)

Please keep your contact details up to date in your Parent Portal to avoid missing important info.

Who do I contact with questions?

For enrolments, fees, uniforms, timetables, or general admin, please contact the studio office.

Teachers cannot discuss admin matters before or after class because they are supervising students and preparing for lessons.

  • Behaviour expectations

We expect all students to show:

    • Respect

    • Kindness

    • Teamwork

If behaviour becomes unsafe or repeatedly disruptive, we may contact a parent and, if needed, remove the student from class to maintain a safe learning environment

Can I watch my child’s classes?

In our experience preschoolers are able to concentrate better without the distraction of other noise in the room from parents and other siblings. Our program has been endorsed by leading child care experts who support the independent learning model. As preschoolers participate in classes they have the opportunity to develop additional secure attachments with adults (teachers) and peers. This helps them transition positively into the larger world and helps with school readiness.

Having said that, a lot of children are timid at first and need to know that a parent is close by. Our program allows parents to watch the first class if necessary to help them adjust.

    Can parents watch classes?

We run scheduled Watch Weeks during the year. Outside of these weeks, classes are closed to:

    • Reduce distraction

    • Support student focus and confidence

    • Keep classes running smoothly

    What is watching day?

Watching day is where parents get to view their child dance as an audience in the classroom. It’s a chance for your child to begin their first step to working on their performance skills.

    What about hair and shoes?

Requirements vary by style and level. Full details are provided after enrolment so you know exactly what to buy and how to wear it for class.

  • Do all students participate in concerts?

Our end-of-year concert is a key part of the BPA experience and is strongly encouraged for all students.

    Are concerts compulsory?

    Not compulsory, but highly encouraged.

Classwork and choreography are taught with performance in mind, so students get the most out of the year by participating.

    Do students do exams?

Exams may be offered for selected styles and levels.

    • Exams are usually optional

    • Some programs or levels may require exams and we will clearly advise you if that applies

What are the pre-requisites for competition team?

Students from 6 years and up are offered the opportunity to perform as a member of our eisteddfod team. Competition Team is an extension program offered to those who excel and participate in a minimum of 4 genres (for 6-11years) and a minimum of 6 classes (12 years and up) must be participated in per week with 2 of theses classes being ballet. The Performance Team participates in various dance competitions/eisteddfods, community events and charity events. Performance team is for those students who demonstrate a high level of commitment, skills, and dedication to their dance studies. This program is developed for students who wish to live and breathe dance and build the important skills of performing. Each performance builds confidence, performance skills, stage presence, team work and a determination to succeed.

  • Are your teacher’s qualified?

All teachers have their Working with Children Check (or equivalent) and follow the program that is endorsed by early learning experts. Ready Set Dance teachers are required to gain their certification from Ready Set Dance head office before delivering the program.

  • How can I experience Ready Set Dance at home?

Ready Set Dance airs on Nick Jr and Paramount Plus. You can also catch us on YouTube and the Nick Jr Play App. The Show has been so popular that it is now airing in 120 countries all over the world. Preschoolers love to dance along to their favourite songs from the TV show in their classes every week.
