Our Story
More than 40 years of dance, community and tradition
Every dance studio has a story.
Ours began more than four decades ago with a teacher who simply wanted to share her love of dance with the local community.
Long before BPA Dance Studio existed, the Beverley Parker Academy of Dance (BPAD) became a familiar name to generations of families throughout Logan. Founded by Miss Parker, the studio welcomed students of all ages and abilities, creating a place where children could learn, grow and experience the joy of dance in a supportive environment.
Many former students still remember attending classes at the iconic Butter Factory, where friendships were formed, confidence was built and a love of dance was nurtured week after week.
What started as a dance school quickly became something much bigger. It became a community.
The woman behind the legacy
For more than 40 years, Miss Parker dedicated her life to dance education.
Through her passion, experience and commitment to her students, she helped shape the lives of hundreds of young dancers across the Logan region. Many former students continued dancing well into adulthood, while others pursued professional careers in the performing arts.
Today, Miss Parker continues to share her knowledge with the next generation as a respected COMDANCE Examiner and valued member of the BPA teaching team.
Her influence can still be felt throughout the studio today, not only through the technical standards she established, but through the culture of encouragement, respect and genuine care that she fostered for so many years.
A student who became a studio owner
For Studio Principal Miss Tiff, BPA’s story is deeply personal.
Long before she became the owner of the studio, she was a student walking through the doors each week, excited to dance, learn and be part of something she loved.
Growing up within the BPAD family gave Miss Tiff a firsthand understanding of what made the studio special. It wasn’t just the classes or performances. It was the feeling of belonging.
It was having teachers who believed in you.
It was the friendships that formed in the waiting room.
It was the excitement of concert day.
It was the confidence that grew with every class attended and every challenge overcome.
Those experiences stayed with her long after she left the classroom.
Continuing the story
When Miss Tiff took over the studio in 2019, it wasn’t about replacing what had come before.
It was about continuing the story.
The studio evolved into BPA Dance Studio, but its foundations remained the same. The values that Miss Parker established over 40 years ago continue to guide everything we do today.
We still believe every child deserves to feel welcomed.
We still believe dance should be a positive and enriching experience.
We still believe confidence is just as important as technique.
And we still believe that some of life’s most important lessons happen inside a dance studio.
More than dance classes
Over the years, thousands of classes have been taught, countless costumes have been worn and generations of students have stepped onto the stage for the very first time.
But the moments we’re most proud of aren’t always the performances.
They’re the shy child who found their confidence.
The student who discovered a lifelong passion.
The friendships that continued long after graduation.
The families who trusted us with their children year after year.
The former students who now bring their own children through our doors.
Those are the moments that define BPA.
BPA Today
Today, BPA Dance Studio proudly offers programs for dancers of all ages, from preschool through to adults.
As a Ready Set Dance® Premium Partner, COMDANCE studio and award-winning dance community, we continue to provide quality dance education while remaining true to the values that built our reputation over four decades ago.
In 2026, BPA was honoured to receive both the Ready Set Pop Customer Service Excellence Award (QLD) and the Ready Set Acro Studio of the Year People’s Choice Award (QLD), recognising our commitment to creating exceptional experiences for students and families.
While we’re proud of how far we’ve come, we’re even more excited about where we’re going.
The next chapter
Every week, new students walk through our doors for the very first time.
Some will stay for a season. Others will stay for years.
No matter where their journey takes them, our goal remains the same as it was more than 40 years ago:
To provide a place where every dancer feels supported, challenged, encouraged and celebrated.
Because while the name on the front door may have evolved over the years, the heart of the studio has never changed.
This version gives you actual storytelling, creates emotional connection, establishes credibility, explains the BPAD → BPA transition, highlights Miss Parker and Miss Tiff, and ends with a forward-looking vision rather than just a history lesson.
